The Play of Daniel tells the Old Testament story of the prophet Daniel - specifically the tales of the Writing on the Wall and the Lions' Den. It was composed in Beauvais in Northern France, under the direction of the choirmaster Ralph the Englishman, and was performed annually for many years by the Abbey choir, complete with costumes and live action. Trouvere's new production highlights the wonderful musicality and great storytelling of this piece of medieval musical theatre.
