The peasant girl Giselle has fallen in love with Albrecht. When she discovers that he is actually a nobleman promised to another, she kills herself in despair. Her spirit joins the Wilis: the vengeful ghosts of women hell-bent on killing any man who crosses their path in a dance to the death. Wracked with guilt, Albrecht visits Giselle's grave, where he must face the Wilis – and Giselle's ghost.

Part 1 of Secrets from the Attic was at Bellerby in March. In 2002 Tony moved into an old house in Cleveland and found an astonishing collection of Victorian photographs and letters in his attic. They turned out to be a forgotten love story.

In part 2 the plot thickens as Tony pursues the Vile Woman across the globe. An unwelcome guest turns up at Annie's wedding and a scandal looms. Gus suddenly disappears but we track him down and discover his unlikely fate.

Born within a year of each other, both used landscape painting to reflect the changing world around them. Tate Britain is bringing these two greats together for a groundbreaking exhibition, in London from November 2025 to April 2026, and Exhibition on Screen once again has exclusive and privileged access to bring their extraordinary art and remarkable stories to the big screen in March 2026 so that both can be enjoyed together. Join Save Our Swale for a creative workshop that uses stories of drought and water scarcity in the past to reflect on how we can prepare better for a drier future. Natalie Holloway, from the Centre for Water Cultures at Hull University will run the 1 - 1.5 hour workshop in which attendees will:
- look at archival material on the effect of droughts in the past on domestic consumers (primarily the drought of 1976),
- learn about early twentieth century experiences of water scarcity and unreliable water supplies in the UK,
- and reflect on personal experiences of drought,
We will then incorporate this material into a creative discussion of what we can all do to save water.
