Touring company, the West Yorkshire Savoyards present Gilbert and Sullivan's gothic melodrama, Ruddigore.
While perhaps not as well-known as some G&S comic-operas, Ruddigore, or The Witch's Curse is arguably funnier and more tongue-in-cheek than some of the big-hitters. Expect all the familiar G&S elements: terrific music, social satire, comic pathos -- but with a seasoning of sinister spectres!
A family curse means a baronet must commit a crime every day or perish. In trying to escape his fate, he encounters dancing sailors, frustrated bridesmaids and a chorus of ghostly ancestors. What could possibly go wrong?!
