An exhibition of paintings in both oils and acrylics inspired by the local environment, by two artists with very different styles.
Jane and Rachel met whilst studying for an MA in Fine Art at Teesside University. They are both inspired by their local environment and landscapes but with very different styles and mediums. Whilst one artist is more abstract; using acrylics and neon colours with beautiful, free mark-making to bring a bright, unique perspective on the world around us. The other uses oils and is more illustrative; emphasising the colour, textures and patterns we see within a landscape. Both artists, however, could be described as contemporary and conceptual, creating bold, colourful and original paintings of landscapes we are familiar with but may now see with different eyes.
