A fine string quartet plays Mozart's String Quartet in B flat major KV589, Mendelssohn's String Quartet In E minor Op.44 No.2, Puccini's Crisantemi, and a new piece entitled Euphonia, by the group's talented viola player Rachel Stott. Composed during the Spring 2020 lockdown, Euphonia tells the tale of four musicians escaping in a hot air balloon, inspired by a story from Berlioz's Evenings in the Orchestra. A delightful programme played by an outstanding quartet.
